Mulvey argues that most of the popular movies are filmed in ways that satisfy mascuine scopophilia, this is also called “male gaze”.Visual media sexualises women for a male viewer. In Gin Wigmore´s video, she strongly represented another response of the media with Mulvey's theory. Wigmore has represented her strong independence, confidence and power of females in her music. Factor as Wigmore´s voice is a way to represent the power as it is considered as a deeper voice compared to other women artists, and more represent as masculinity of female. However in some of Wigmore´s music, she also has songs with lyrics representing the desire to hold on to man, or seek into love. Therefore Wigmore has a possibility to support Mulvey's theory. Furthermore, “Black Sheep” , the song I chose for my project, does not support Mulvey's theory, it represents a strong independence and confidence of women rather than sexualising females and representing relationship problems.
