Colour
In my music video, the colour palette is not going to be bright and have high contrast colours in most of the scenes. Black would be the colour to represent the artist, and to represent as the ‘different’ as it demonstrated as ‘black sheep’. The tone of my music video is going to be a bit greyish to represent a vintage style, which represents the folk genre of the music video, and to represent as power and a danger the music ‘’Black Sheep’ represented.
My actor is going to wear costumes with all black, black top, black jacket, black bottoms, black shoes, etc. However the accessories could be represented with gold or silver therefore make the actor more lively and shiny, and it can grab the audience’s attention more easily. Gold and silver accessories with black, this combination also has demonstrated the rock genre of ‘ Black Sheep’. Makeup is not drawn with smoky eyeshadows because I want to represent a person with youth, strong energy and passion to demonstrate confidence and the indie genre. Not only with black, I would like to represent yellow as a combination with black for my actor. I use yellow eyeliner, white eyeliner, black eyeliner, and different dark colours for the makeup, the style and the eyeliner should be crazy, therefore represents uniqueness.
As I decided to make my actor dance, a lot of close up cameras would be used to represent the small details and the movement of the actor. Long Shot would also be used often to film the whole setting with the actor, and with the actor dancing around. Hand held cameras would be used to represent the vintage style and to move with the movement of the dancing body. Low angle shot and high angle shot would also be used as these angles create a unique style and represent the actor in different angles. I would like to try with bird eye shots to film my actor with focusing on her makeup and lip moving.
For editing, I am going to put lots of jump cuts that match the beats of the music video and therefore create a strong impression of different scenes and to represent different dances and angles to let the audience be attracted.
